Kayany Foundation is seeking dedicated, qualified teachers to join our mission of providing high-quality, accredited education to Syrian refugee children and youth in Lebanon. Key Responsibilities:
- Foster a friendly, safe, and supportive learning environment.
- Implement the required curriculum, adapting content as needed to meet student needs.
- Utilize diverse teaching methods (demonstrations, discussions, hands-on activities, debates) to engage students effectively.
- Apply classroom management techniques to maintain a motivated and focused classroom atmosphere.
- Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress fairly and accurately.
- Supervise and support students during arrival, departure, and recess times.
- Organize and maintain educational tools, aids, and materials in good condition.
- Participate in training sessions organized by the Kayany Foundation.
- Follow protection guidelines and report any concerns to the line manager for appropriate action.
- Adhere to all internal policies, including the Child Protection Policy and Kayany’s Code of Conduct.
- Provide individualized support to students needing additional academic or emotional assistance, referring them to appropriate resources when necessary.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, staff, and coordinators to ensure consistent educational quality.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and progress, preparing reports as needed.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on educational trends and improve teaching effectiveness.
- Plan and conduct engaging virtual classes using online platforms, ensuring students understand the learning objectives and actively participate in the lessons.
- Assess students’ performance through assignments, quizzes, and online activities, and provide constructive feedback to support their academic development.
- Communicate regularly with students and parents to provide updates on progress, address concerns, and support students’ learning needs.
Qualifications, Skills, and Personal Attributes
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or relevant subject area (Master’s Degree is an advantage).
- High proficiency in English and/or Arabic, both oral and written, based on the subject being taught.
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching or tutoring experience.
- Clean police record.
- Cultural sensitivity and respect for the diverse backgrounds of students, fostering an inclusive and accepting learning environment.
- Strong knowledge of subject matter and teaching methodologies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and engage students.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and digital platforms.
