Multimedia for Feminist Internet

KW is looking to hire a multimedia artist to work on a creative output for its 2023  project on early feminist engagement with technology and cyberspace.

DESCRIPTION: 

KW is a feminist organization based in Beirut that works on storytelling and oral history, researching women’s stories and histories, developing and making accessible more feminist resources. This year, KW has been doing oral history audio interviews with feminists from Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Egypt and Tunisia around their early days of engaging with the internet. The final product for this project in 2023 will be a creative multimedia output that integrates images, sounds and interviews. 

Expected timeframe for this position: October - November 2023.

 Qualifications:

• Multimedia artist must have:
• At least a BA in Communication or Design Arts, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of  experience in multimedia creation 
• Experience in sound design and audio editing
• Residency in Lebanon is important for this position, although a Lebanese nationality is not required.
• Ability to work with the Arabic language is also required for this position

Budget for this project: 1200-1500 USD based on candidate’s experience and the agreed-upon output.
