About
Founded in 2014 by passionate parents, Lactica is a Lebanese NGO whose mission is to support, promote, and protect breastfeeding in Lebanon. Lactica’s vision is to normalize breastfeeding in the Lebanese society and empower mothers with the knowledge needed to make informed choices about how to feed their babies. Over the last 6 years, Lactica has continuously raised awareness about breastfeeding through a variety of initiatives. Lactica has organized provisional educational sessions by healthcare professionals, free breastfeeding support for parents both online and offline, as well as awareness campaigns. In addition, Lactica works with the Ministry of Public Health to enforce the Lebanese Law 47/1008 which aims to protect breastfeeding by regulating the marketing and advertising campaigns for baby bottles, teats, pacifiers, baby food, and artificial formula milk from birth until 3 years of age.
