The USAID-funded Farmer-to-Farmer (F2F) Program provides voluntary technical assistance to farmers, farm groups, and agribusinesses in Lebanon to promote sustainable capacity building. The program relies on the expertise of US volunteers from diverse backgrounds—farms, universities, cooperatives, private agribusinesses, nonprofit farm organizations and others—to respond to the needs of Lebanese farmers, organizations, and agribusiness. F2F Volunteers work on a wide range of activities, providing assistance to host organizations—private farmers, cooperatives, community groups, rural credit institutions, extension services, input supply firms, agribusinesses, and others. Assignments may involve technology transfer, business planning, organizational strengthening, marketing or environmental conservation. The Lebanon office for Land O’Lakes will identify hosts and plan assignments, provide logistics and translation services when needed, and follow up with host organizations on implementation of volunteer recommendations.
Reporting to the Lebanon Country Director, the F2F Field Coordinator will assist in host identification, scope of work development, and logistics for volunteer technical assistance assignments in Lebanon. Key responsibilities include: Meeting with potential host organizations, farmers, farmers groups, and other agricultural institutions to identify potential volunteer host assignments; Working with the F2F Program Director and the Lebanon Country Director to develop volunteer scopes of work and baseline profiles; manage logistical arrangements for volunteer assignments for their entire stay; Accompany volunteers on assignments; Work with the M&E Specialist to ensure proper data collection from hosts and beneficiary organizations; Work with volunteers to ensure that all project-required documentation is collected prior to volunteer departure; Work closely with volunteers to provide in-country trainings and workshops for beneficiaries.
Qualifications:
Experience with the logistics and administrative tasks related to foreign visitors;
Degree or advanced diploma in agriculture, food science, food safety or a related field;
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in agricultural development programs and activities;
Demonstrated experience identifying, developing scopes of work for, and mobilizing short-term technical consultants;
Demonstrated experience in organizing and delivering public outreach and training events.
The ability to write effectively in English with fully developed, organized, and well-thought writing;
Fluency in English, Arabic. French a plus.
