The USAID-funded Farmer-to-Farmer (F2F) Program provides voluntary technical assistance to farmers, farm groups, and agribusinesses in Lebanon to promote sustainable capacity building. The program relies on the expertise of US volunteers from diverse backgrounds—farms, universities, cooperatives, private agribusinesses, nonprofit farm organizations and others—to respond to the needs of Lebanese farmers, organizations, and agribusiness. F2F Volunteers work on a wide range of activities, providing assistance to host organizations—private farmers, cooperatives, community groups, rural credit institutions, extension services, input supply firms, agribusinesses, and others. Assignments may involve technology transfer, business planning, organizational strengthening, marketing or environmental conservation. The Lebanon office for Land O’Lakes will identify hosts and plan assignments, provide logistics and translation services when needed, and follow up with host organizations on implementation of volunteer recommendations.
The Finance Manager will provide financial, accounting, and auditing support to Land O’Lakes by supervising the daily financial operations of the F2F Lebanon country program including cash flow, timesheets recording, and monitoring of budgets, spend down and fiscal obligations, and HR and tax transactions needed for the Lebanon office. S/he will also provide support for the following: Pay and account for all project expenditures in the Costpoint system; Manage fund transfers to and from headquarters and project site; Manage bank account and monitor balances; Prepare monthly budget projections and wire requests to home office; Enter transactions in to Costpoint accounting system; Manage payroll, social/health insurance and tax payments; Contribute to quarterly project budget reporting; Implementation of Land O’Lakes internal controls.
Qualifications:
Advanced degree in accounting, business administration, finance or related field; Master’s degree preferred
Prior experience in auditing the accuracy of expenses and ensuring compliance with donor rules and regulations
Experience in following and implementing internal controls for project and office management environments
Proven success in managing finances for USAID-funded programs
Experience in financial reporting
Experience working with accounting software
Previous experience supervising accounting and other office staff
Fluency in English and Arabic. French is a plus.
