Social Worker

Social worker provides support in enabling individuals, groups and communities to help themselves improve their lives by working with their surroundings. The Social Worker conducts assessments, and develops interventions to solve social and personal problems to create social change. Moreover, the social worker contributes to the implementation and monitoring of specific projects/programs within the organization as needed. In Addition,  He/She maintain professional relationships with service users, acting as guides and advocate.

Duties:

  • Networking with humanitarian organizations, institutions, societies, and others to support beneficiaries to obtain the required service.
  • Attend relevant meetings and training.
  • Facilitate sessions on community feedback mechanism (CFM) that will be utilized in receiving and addressing beneficiaries' and non-beneficiaries' reports and queries.
  • Reports on barriers to facilitate disability inclusion in the implementation of the activities.
  • Assess, mitigate and report on protection risks encountered during implementation by specifying the risks and implications on beneficiaries.
  • Provision of protection guidance to beneficiaries through individual/group sessions
  • Report on individual / Household protection and non-protection issues identified and referred during program activities.
  • Conducts awareness and psychosocial support sessions for community members targeted by the project in the area of implementation
  • Practice applying skills and learn how to apply training to real world events
    Performs initial screening and evaluation of individuals, groups and communities for vulnerability in relation to set criteria to assess and review their situation.
  • Provides communities activities relevant to respond the needs. 
  • Participates in all trainings and meetings needed.
  • Leads in participatory approach the community based work with stakeholders of the community
  • Recruits and builds up a network of community volunteers, prepares, defines, training and facilitates trainings for volunteers. 
  • Keep detailed narrative and statistics records and provide timely reports as requested
  • Contribute to the development of communication material on protection topics
  • Organize outreach activities and visits in the different activities' locations
