Tech manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a forward-looking technology strategy aligned with LAL’s educational vision.
  • Oversee the architecture, development, and maintenance of LMS platforms (e.g., Moodle) and other open-source tools.
  • Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of LAL’s Linux-based digital infrastructure.
  • Lead and mentor the tech team, collaborating closely with the content department to align technical solutions with pedagogical goals.
  • Supervise the rollout and ongoing maintenance of educational websites and digital tools.
  • Research, adopt, and implement emerging technologies that enhance digital content creation (video, audio, and visual).
  • Improve the speed, quality, and scalability of content production and distribution.
  • Build internal capacity through training, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
  • Advise senior leadership on technology investments and priorities.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in a senior technical or digital leadership role.
  • Strong expertise in LMS (especially Moodle), open-source platforms, and Linux-based systems.
  • Experience managing web development teams.
  • Solid knowledge of cybersecurity practices, server architecture, and data privacy.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and their application in EdTech is highly desirable.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and strategic planning skills.
  • Passion for education, innovation, and digital inclusion.
