Part-Time Assistant Project Coordinator - Beirut

Role Summary

The Assistant Project Coordinator is primarily responsible for supporting the project functions closely with the management team and is a member of the steering committee of the project. S/he has an executive role as per below.

The Teacher Development Program for the Armenian Schools in Lebanon funded by Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation aims at providing professional development for in-service teachers at the Armenian schools in Lebanon who either teach the Western Armenian language or teach different subjects in Western Armenian. Specifically, the Program aims to provide experiences for the teachers to revisit and reflect on their pedagogical knowledge, skills and attitudes.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supports the Project Lead and tracks implementation, monitoring and evaluation
  • Executes day-to-day activities related to the project and ensures successful implementation of its different phases in consultation with the management team
  • Coordinates meetings and takes minutes
  • Liaises between the participating K-12 schools
  • Coordinates amongst participant teachers, consultants, the steering committee, and different university departments involved with the project
  • Follows-up with participants to track and collect monitoring and evaluation data
  • Supports the planning and organization of events such as symposia
  • Performs other pertinent tasks as assigned by the Project Lead

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Education or relevant field
  • Around 1 year of experience in grant-related work or in an administrative capacity
  • Excellent communication skills in English and preferably in Western Armenian (both oral and written)
  • Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks easily under pressure
  • Capable of working well within a team setting
