Market Research And Product Design Consultant

Job Summary   The consultant will be responsible for the full market research needed to design a new product for micro enterprises. The consultant will undertake data analysis, market research by doing desk research, conducting focus groups and surveys with field staff and clients. The aim of the research is to select a sector for further in-depth analysis. The consultant is also responsible for writing research findings and presenting reports to the management team regarding possible sectors to focus on. Upon agreement on a sector or two, in-depth market and financial analysis will be undertaken to understand the value chain of the sector and areas Al Majmoua can intervene. The assignment may be extended based on the consultant’s expertise to complete other steps needed in the product design and roll-out phases.   Responsibilities:   Market research: Conduct desk research using online and in-house database to identify and analyze the different economic sectors in which a product targeting very small entrepreneurs could be viable, and assess which one would best cater to the needs of refugees and host communities Conduct interviews, surveys and focus groups in the field to further identify and assess ideas Once a sector is selected, in depth market research would be needed to assess the full value chain in the sector, potential demand, existing competition, and possibility financial projections Write reports, summarize data and prepare presentations as needed to product development team and other stakeholders Work closely and coordinate with various departments at Al Majmoua to conduct market research and other aspects of the product design Facilitate and coordinate meetings for the various stakeholder  Work with the Product Development Manager as needed on the project   Depending on the expertise, the Consultancy maybe extended to the phase of product design and launch including: Work with the Product Development Manager on designing the product in all aspects Coordinate with lawyer regarding possible legal terms of the product Prepare training material for field staff Coordinate with field operations to plan testing phase Summarize findings and adjust design based on pilot phase Prepare and plan roll out of product
