About Forum For Memory & Future
The Forum is a platform that brings together organizations and individuals working on or interested in the field of dealing with the past in Lebanon. Their collaboration is based on shared principles of dialogue, respect and inclusion towards formulating a common language that contributes to a new national discourse to find best approaches to engage constructively with the past to secure a sustainable future. The mission of the Forum is to demonstrate the importance of engaging with the past - particularly the recent past - and to work towards establishing a national healed memory enriched by, rather than fearful of, the multitude of narratives, to secure a better future.
The FMF is currently seeking a Communication Strategy Consultant (individual, group or company). We are seeking an integrated approach to develop the (a) visual identity / branding of the Forum, (b) set up an overall media and communications strategy, (c) develop a media campaign(s) around topics related to Dealing with the Past (DwP), (d) and communication and media training of selected representatives of FMF.
We seek one entity (individual, group, company) to produce these outputs, to ensure a strong / coherent communication and media presence of the FMF. A designated Communication and Media Officer, appointed by the FMF, will oversee the implementation of the general strategy and support in the campaign, and would work in close cooperation with the consulted entity.
Main Deliverables / outputs
All outputs will be delivered in Arabic and English.
- Visual identity / Branding
- Logo / Icons for social media
- Brand Book: Fonts, Brand Colours, Tone of Voice, Visual Treatment & Imagery, etc.
- Tagline
- Adaptation of visual identity into newsletters, letter heads, banners etc
- Template for the periodic journal.
- Overall Media & Communications strategy for 2 years
- Defining of Target group(s), and communication aims and best methods to achieve them (e.g. social media vs press release vs video vs TV interviews)
- Communication guidelines (e.g. wording, tone (written, verbal) etc)
- Communication procedures (internal) to ensure fast communication responses
- Media Campaign
Devising, planning and budgeting for media campaigns focusing on the below communication objectives:
- DwP in brief: concepts and goals
- History Education
- Case of the missing and disappeared
- Reparations
- Reconciliation
- Remembrance
The media planning should consider offline and online media channels, wherever the need arises.
Campaigns could include:
- 2 – 3 TV spots to be published also on social media on DwP topics (eg. History education, the case of the missing and disappeared, …) and adaptable for radio.
- 6 – 8 Infographics on DwP issues to be used for social media and prints
- Any other mediums that the consultant suggests (social media, infographs, …) including conventional and unconventional strategies.
d) Communication & Media training
- Mentoring of Communication & Media Officer (esp. at beginning, and for milestone events)
- Social Media, Press and TV training for selected members of the FMF
Experience / proficiency
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in communication and media strategies
- Experience in topics related to peace building, conflict resolution, dealing of the past, and related fields is a plus.
- Capacity to deliver all outputs in Arabic and English
- Experience in working with NGOs and INGOs is a plus
