Tasks & responsibilities

  • Maintain financial and accounting systems and procedures to ensure compliance with LOWER financial policy and donors’ financial guidelines;
  • Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards;
  • Financial management of approved funds and projects;
  • Control and monitor the operations and project expenditures and cash flows; prepare the variance analysis report;
  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry of invoices, payments received, and procurement orders;
  • Provide periodical reports to the Executive Director regarding financial and operational issues for projects;
  • Ensure and archive all documents related to internal financial systems of LOWER and funded projects;
  • Maintain all records related to transactions made in relation to projects;
  • Analyze trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses;
  • Maintain and analyze budgets, preparing periodic financial reports;
  • Advise management about issues such as resource utilization and assumptions underlying budget forecasts.

Educational Background
Bachelor’s degree required in accounting, corporate finance, business management or related field.

Previous Experience
1.    Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the not-to-profit sector; 
2.    Demonstrable experience of project financial reporting including to donors;
3.    Professional knowledge of the methods of financial analysis and the methodology for the preparation of budgets;
4.    Professional knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations and/or policies;
5.    Professional Experience in the use of Financials Systems/Software;
6.    Excellent reporting Skills, attention to detail, confidentiality, time management and data entry management.

Languages
Excellent oral and written communication skills in Arabic and English.
