The Lebanese Observatory for Workers & Employees Rights-L.O.W.E.R. is a Lebanese independent non-profit organization, reg # 365.
We believe in Social Justice and seek legal protection for all without discrimination of any kind, such as gender, color, religion, or other. We are committed to principles supported by the international conventions, declarations, and agreements on human rights and gender justice, particularly, the International Convention for Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, in addition to recommendations set by the International Labor Organization-ILO as a benchmark for practice and vision.
Role:
LOWER is seeking to hire a part-time grants writer to support the program development team by:
- Identifying appropriate open calls for proposals and potential donors
- Hold relevant communication with potential donors
- Identify time/ resource requirements for each opportunity
- Working with the program manager(s), and the team member, along with key experts and partners for conceptual approach, developing theory of change and the result framework
- Delivering complete proposals according to each donor requirements
The outcome of the service provider work:
The main outcome of the required service is to propose in the proposals the scope, outcomes, and strategy of the Observatory (LOWER) to all potential donors.
Requirements & skills:
- Strong experience in international policies towards Lebanon
- Knowledge of government, political socio-economic context
- Strong experience in fundraising and proposal writing
- Excellent research, organizational and communications skills
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Multitasked
- Critical and strategic thinking
- Human rights & gender background and approach (women, youth, children, and people with disabilities)
- Reporting at impact level
- Experience in an NGO, or INGO, or CSR setting with a strong understanding of how non-profits operate and communicate, experience in international NGOs, EU or UN Agencies is a plus.
- Strong understanding of issues in the country, region, and world.
Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Political Studies, Social Work other relevant fields.
