Community Midwives will play a vital role in improving maternal and newborn health outcomes by providing home care and follow-up services for pregnant and lactating women. The position involves conducting regular home visits, monitoring maternal and newborn health, supporting safe pregnancy and postpartum practices, promoting breastfeeding, and offering counseling on family planning and newborn care. Midwives will also ensure timely referrals to health facilities when necessary and maintain accurate records of care provided.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting home visits for antenatal and postnatal follow-up.
Monitoring maternal and newborn well-being and identifying risks.
Providing health education and counseling on pregnancy, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
Supporting families in accessing health services and making referrals when needed.
Ensuring confidentiality, respect, and culturally sensitive care.
Requirements:
Licensed midwife, registered with the Lebanese Order of Midwives (LOM).
Resident in the nominated area of assignment (Bekaa (Middlle and west) , Baalbek-Hermel and South Lebanon (Saida and Tyr).
Currently not employed by any NGO.
Experience in community or maternal health is preferred.
Strong communication skills and commitment to serving vulnerable populations.
