EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

Background

LOST has partnered with Room to Read (RtR) to refurbish and equip 50 new libraries in existing NFE centers.

Room to Read (RtR) seeks to transform the lives of millions of children in low-income communities by focusing on literacy and gender equality in education. Working in collaboration with local communities, partner organizations, and governments, Room to Read (RtR) develops literacy skills and a habit of reading among primary school children.

 Over the course of twenty-eight months (2022-2024), LOST will implement a project to support 50 NFE center libraries in Lebanon. The main objective of the project is to share RtR’s expertise, training manuals, and project implementation resources in NFE center libraries with partners who are interested to carry forward the RtR model.

 The IPs will be responsible for financial oversight of the project and recruiting and managing a project team to support project activities. The qualified institutions selected will have an opportunity to work with the LOST and Room to Read technical teams and coordinate project implementation in specific regions of Lebanon.

 Qualifications

 The IPs will demonstrate the following qualities:

 · Access to high-caliber staff with relevant professional experience in the fields of education and project management;

· Have 5 or more years of experience in managing education-related projects in Lebanon;

· An in-depth understanding of the education situation in the national and local context(s);

· A good professional standing amongst the government and other key stakeholders;
