Community Activist

About the job  The Community Activist is responsible to work with and facilitate the development, planning, implementation and evaluation of community-led initiatives to mitigate and reduce the stress and conflicts between the host community and refugees, with a focus on the areas specifications, culture and psychographics.   Duties  Lobby/Advocate for a conflict transformation approach to community mobilizing within your organization and respective communities Networking/Building collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and other local resources for nonviolent conflict resolution within and between local host communities and Syrian refugee communities. Ensure and uphold quality standards at all time, i.e. RPP As per the job purpose outlined above, the role will draw upon the following components: Formation and Coordination of Local Mechanism Planning, conducting and documentation of a Needs and/or Conflict Assessment in identified locations Prioritize community needs and conflict issues to be addressed, strategize and develop action plans and budgets and integrate the communities into the process Further, depending on the nature of the conflicts and needs, initiate and utilize different interventions, examples could include: referrals to NGOs focusing on the identified needs and conflicts; and/or establishing a working group / platform for community-led projects; and/or facilitate dialogue sessions, joint conflict analysis sessions, and/or act as a mediator between conflict parties Supporting the running of a working group, facilitating regular meetings and fostering joint decision making Outreach and regular communication with local communities and key stakeholders in their area for trust building and visibility in the community Coordinating the implementation of the action plans and community projects Evaluating activities and using the RPP framework Support the institutionalization of procedures to form a local mechanism Capacity Building Attend the trainings cycle provided by forumZFD and in conjuncture with mentoring support from forumZFD, apply the new skills and learning to your work Learning and Reflection Regular debriefings and time for personal and collective reflection and evaluation, this may lead to adjustments in interventions / approaches Mentoring working group members Documentation, Narrative and Financial Reporting Document needs, conflicts, activities and interventions Provide periodical reports regarding the tasks achievements to the coordinator
