Counseling Officer

LOST is seeking to recruit a counseling officer in baalbeck - hermel 

Job Summary:

The Counseling officer will work closely with the development officer to provide the targeted youth with relevant business and entrepreneurship counseling.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide youth with regular coaching, mentoring, home based training through the counselling approach.
  • Support youth to develop their own business ideas.
  • Provide counseling services on employment and self-employment options, and on vocational training opportunities
  • Provide vocational and career guidance to youth on business development for startups.
  • Provide jobseekers and employers with information on relevant Lebanese regulations (including on business start-up) and their implications on Syrian refugees and Lebanese jobseekers
  • Schedule interviews with registered job seekers for job and training vacancies
  • Produce reports on results of counseling sessions
  • Match job seekers with training and employment opportunities
  • Organize and hold group information sessions (job application training and information)
  • Any other task as may be assigned by the project Coordinator

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, International Development, Entrepreneurship, or any other related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in counselling and development of business startups
  • Experience in program design & evaluation.
  • Previous experience regarding the Lebanese regulations on business start-ups and their implications on Syrian refugees and Lebanese jobseekers.
  • Experience in the NGO/INGO field.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English.
  • Computer proficiency (MS office)
