Counseling Officer

LOST is seeking to recruit a counseling officer in baalbeck - hermel 

Job Summary:

The Counseling officer will work closely with the development officer to provide the targeted youth with relevant business and entrepreneurship counseling.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide youth with regular coaching, mentoring, home based training through the counselling approach.

Support youth to develop their own business ideas.

Provide counseling services on employment and self-employment options, and on vocational training opportunities

Provide vocational and career guidance to youth on business development for startups.

Provide jobseekers and employers with information on relevant Lebanese regulations (including on business start-up) and their implications on Syrian refugees and Lebanese jobseekers

Schedule interviews with registered job seekers for job and training vacancies

Produce reports on results of counseling sessions

Match job seekers with training and employment opportunities

Organize and hold group information sessions (job application training and information)

Any other task as may be assigned by the project Coordinator

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, International Development, Entrepreneurship, or any other related field.

At least 3 years of experience in counselling and development of business startups

Experience in program design & evaluation.

Previous experience regarding the Lebanese regulations on business start-ups and their implications on Syrian refugees and Lebanese jobseekers.

Experience in the NGO/INGO field.

Fluency in Arabic and English.

Computer proficiency (MS office)
