Job Description:
The Digital Learning Officer will play a key role in supporting the integration of digital education tools and platforms in classrooms and learning environments. The role involves training educators, providing ongoing technical and pedagogical support, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring the effective use of platforms such as Akelius and Digital Passport to enhance learning outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Training & Professional Development
- Design and deliver professional development workshops and training sessions for teachers on digital learning platforms and tools.
- Empower educators to effectively utilize Akelius and Digital Passport in their teaching practices.
Curriculum & Content Support
- Develop and update educational materials, training manuals, and resource kits.
- Collaborate with curriculum developers and education experts to integrate digital content into lesson plans.
Implementation & Monitoring
- Support the rollout and classroom implementation of digital learning strategies.
- Monitor usage and provide on-the-ground assistance to ensure smooth adoption.
Technical Assistance
- Offer continuous technical support to teachers, including troubleshooting and resolving issues related to digital platforms.
- Coordinate with IT teams to maintain the functionality of devices and tools.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Conduct regular meetings with teachers to gather feedback and address challenges in using digital learning tools.
Data & Reporting
- Collect data on usage and impact of digital learning platforms.
Logistics & Resource Management
- Oversee logistics related to procurement and distribution of tablets and other digital devices.
- Ensure all equipment is tracked, maintained, and properly utilized.
Innovation & Capacity Building
Promote a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and digital literacy among teachers and staff.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Technology, or a related field.
- Experience in teacher training, digital education tools, or ICT in education.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic IT problems and coordinate with technical teams.
- Proficiency in digital learning platforms (Akelius, Digital Passport, or similar).
- Ability to work collaboratively with educators, NGOs, and international partners (e.g., UNICEF).
- Excellent organizational and reporting skills.
