Job Description:

Main responsibilities:

 • Follow up and analyse the developments in the education sector and develop strategies to design programme and projects.

• Facilitate knowledge sharing and conduct training to Operational Partners and other stakeholders in educational contents and processes.

 • Conduct monitoring and internal evaluation of the quality of educational activities of the Operational Partners and the Country Programme.

• Represent LOST in different networks/working groups on education.

 Duties and tasks:

The Education Officer’s work assignment includes the following tasks:

 Country Programme analysis and strategic planning

• Carry out comprehensive analysis of the education sector developments and needs and advise the Country Representative on strategies and approaches;

 • Keep abreast changes in development of education policies, regulations and studies;

 • Assist in designing and implementing the Country Programme, mainstreamed with cross-cutting and child safeguarding issues;

 • Actively participate and guide on the identification of problems and support the design of new project proposals by Operational Partners in line with LOST strategy and result based management guidelines;

• Assist in ensuring coherence of partners’ activities with the project log frame and action plan.

Monitoring and Evaluation

• Conduct regular field monitoring visits and provide technical support to Operational Partners;

• Assist in analysing semi-annual (January-June) and annual (January-December) narrative reports from Operational Partners;

• Collaborate with Finance & Administration Officer to ensure that Operational Partners implement projects according to the action plan and budget planning;

• Support external evaluation processes;

• Act as signatory of the bank account of the Country Office with Country Representative. Carry out other tasks as required by the Country Representative.
