LOST is seeking a compassionate and experienced Hospitality Coach to train and mentor beneficiaries enrolled in our skill development or livelihood program. This role focuses on preparing individuals—often from underserved communities—for employment in the hospitality industry by providing practical training, soft skills development, and job readiness coaching. The Hospitality Coach plays a vital role in empowering participants with the knowledge, confidence, and professional habits needed to succeed in entry-level hospitality roles.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver hands-on training in hospitality basics including housekeeping, front office, food and beverage service, customer interaction, and grooming standards
  • Coach beneficiaries on workplace etiquette, communication, hygiene, time management, and teamwork
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment tailored to the needs of diverse learners
  • Use role-play, demonstrations, and real-life scenarios to build confidence and practical skills
  • Identify individual learning needs and provide personalized guidance and encouragement
  • Collaborate with program staff to assess trainees’ progress and job readiness
  • Support beneficiaries in preparing for job interviews and placement opportunities
  • Provide ongoing mentorship to ensure successful transitions into hospitality employment
  • Maintain training records, attendance sheets, progress evaluations, and feedback reports
  • Ensure training aligns with industry standards and employer expectations
  • Participate in community outreach, career fairs, or employer visits when required
 

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in the hospitality industry, preferably in hotels, restaurants, or resorts
  • Prior experience as a trainer, coach, or mentor, especially in a development or education context
  • Passion for working with youth, women, or underserved communities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to motivate and build trust
  • Fluency in local language(s); English proficiency preferred
  • Knowledge of basic training methods, adult learning principles, or vocational education practices
  • High school diploma or degree in hospitality, social work, education, or vocational training preferred
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and communication

  • Conflict resolution and motivational skills
  • Practical knowledge of hotel/hospitality operations
  • Flexibility to adapt content to different learning levels and backgrounds
 

Working Conditions:

  • Training center, classroom, or partner organization premises
  • May involve travel to field locations or hospitality job sites
  • Flexible working hours may be required to accommodate training schedules

Familiarization with, and adherence to, the code of conduct is an essential requirement of all staff, in addition to related mandatory training. All staff must ensure that they understand and act in accordance with this clause.
