The Maharati and GIL (Girls' Innovation Lab) Facilitator is responsible for implementing and facilitating life skills, employability skills, and innovation sessions for adolescents and youth (ages 10–24) as part of the Maharati and GIL programs. The facilitator will ensure safe, inclusive, and empowering learning environments while fostering creativity, leadership, and personal development, especially for girls and young women.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitation & Delivery:
- Conduct sessions using the Maharati curriculum (life skills, employability, and transferable skills) for youth participants.
- Lead GIL sessions focusing on innovation, design thinking, and problem-solving, particularly for adolescent girls.
- Adapt sessions to meet the needs, age, and learning levels of the participants.
- Promote gender equality, inclusion, and child/youth protection in all sessions.
Youth Engagement:
- Create an interactive, youth-centered, and supportive environment.
- Encourage critical thinking, collaboration, and active participation.
- Support youth in designing and developing community or entrepreneurial projects.
Monitoring & Reporting:
- Track attendance and maintain accurate records of sessions.
- Submit regular reports on progress, challenges, and success stories.
- Contribute to pre- and post-assessments to evaluate participant learning and program impact.
Community & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Coordinate with parents, community leaders, and local stakeholders to support youth participation.
- Represent the Maharati and GIL programs in community meetings or events when needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, Youth Development, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience working with adolescents and youth in a teaching, facilitation, or mentoring role.
- Prior experience with life skills education, innovation labs, or youth empowerment programs is highly desirable.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong facilitation and communication skills.
- Ability to connect and build trust with youth from diverse backgrounds.
- Creativity and flexibility in adapting learning materials.
- Commitment to gender equality, inclusion, and child safeguarding.
- Basic computer literacy (MS Office, email, online platforms).
