Position Objective:
LOST is looking to hire a qualified Speech Therapist to provide clinical support and therapeutic services to children and families in Beqaa. The role involves close collaboration with LOST caseworkers to assess, monitor, and support beneficiaries’ progress in communication and speech development.
The therapist will contribute to the delivery of high-quality services through assessments, therapy planning, direct interventions, caregiver support, and coordination with relevant stakeholders. This position also includes administrative tasks, participation in ongoing professional development, and the promotion of evidence-based practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess speech, language, and communication disorders in children and develop tailored intervention plans.
- Deliver therapy sessions to beneficiaries and offer training/support to families and caregivers.
- Collaborate with LOST caseworkers to share therapy goals, progress reports, and discharge plans.
- Conduct regular evaluations using standardized outcome measures to monitor improvement and adjust treatment plans.
- Develop SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) goals for each case in coordination with the team.
- Identify environmental or contextual risks that may impact a child’s development or therapy outcomes.
- Recommend and implement strategies to prevent or address incidents or regression.
- Educate caregivers and school staff on speech-related challenges and intervention techniques.
- Maintain detailed records and reports, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
- Stay up-to-date with new therapy techniques and best practices in the field.
- Support awareness and capacity-building activities on child development and communication disorders.
- Engage in quality assurance, case audits, and supervision activities.
- Participate in multidisciplinary planning and coordination meetings as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Speech Therapy or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in speech therapy, preferably in humanitarian or developmental contexts.
- Strong background in working with vulnerable children and families.
- Proven experience in psychosocial support activities, child protection, and safeguarding.
- Knowledge of behavioral, cognitive, and developmental issues affecting communication.
- Ability to independently manage case planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Proficiency in using digital tools and therapy-related software.
- Fluent in both Arabic and English (written and spoken).

Direct Supervisor: Case Management Manager
- Supervises: PSS/FPSS Facilitators, Parenting Facilitators
- Indirect Reporting: Program Manager
- Key Internal Contacts: LOST staff and sector teams
- Key External Contacts: Child Protection partners, local and international NGOs
NB: LOST has zero tolerance for Sexual Exploitation and Abuse of beneficiaries. Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) is everyone’s responsibility and all staff are required to adhere to the code of conduct, that enshrines the principles of PSEA, always (Both during work hours and outside work hours). Familiarization with, and adherence to, the code of conduct is an essential requirement of all staff, in addition to related mandatory training. All staff must ensure that they understand and act in accordance with this clause.
