The Technical Expert in Economic Initiatives and Employability will play a key role in developing and managing programs aimed at promoting economic opportunities and improving access to employment, particularly for youth, women, and underserved groups. The role involves offering expert advice, supporting capacity-building efforts, and working closely with a wide range of stakeholders including public institutions, private sector actors, vocational training providers, and community organizations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Development and Management
- Design and oversee activities that support economic growth, entrepreneurship, and workforce readiness.
- Implement training programs, business support services, and employment initiatives tailored to local contexts.
- Create operational tools and guidance documents to support field activities.
Technical Support and Advisory
- Offer expert input on job creation strategies, labor market dynamics, and skills development.
- Provide technical training and mentorship to project staff and local partners.
- Promote inclusive approaches that address the specific needs of disadvantaged populations.
- Stakeholder Coordination and Partnership Building
- Maintain effective collaboration with government bodies, educational institutions, and private companies.
- Support the establishment of partnerships with vocational training centers, employment agencies, and local entrepreneurs.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Assist in designing frameworks to monitor progress and assess the impact of interventions.
- Conduct labor market assessments and contribute to ongoing project learning and adaptation.
- Document good practices and contribute to the development of knowledge products.
Reporting and Proposal Development
- Contribute to project proposals, concept notes, and donor reports.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation of project activities and outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Advanced degree in Economics, Business, Development Studies, or a similar discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience working in economic development, workforce programs, or related fields.
- Strong grasp of employment trends, small business ecosystems, and vocational training systems.
- Prior experience in international development or working with vulnerable communities is a strong asset.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a range of partners, including government entities and donors.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
- Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of other languages is an advantage.
