Main Role
The Cash & Voucher (CVA) Center of Excellence (CoE) Officer is responsible in assisting the CVA CoE in building capabilities that can provide strategic advantage. Also to establish the appropriate governance and processes in pushing forward advocacy efforts for Cash and Voucher assistance.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
I. Knowledge & learning management
- Support in standardizing learning guidelines / templates (Developing case studies, best practices, videos, and other instructional materials.)
- Compile CVA related documents/resources for publishing in the “Cash hub’ MENA page
- Support in development of differentiating capabilities such as CVA standards, tools, procedures, and advocacy activities in the region
- Support in preparing and facilitating capacity building in CVA;
- With awareness sessions, face to face trainings, simulations, etc.
- With remote support in key areas such as integrating cash feasibility and market assessment into existing assessment methodologies, developing the tools for CVA, and training relevant staff
- Support in documenting the cash preparedness process, and drafting case studies to profile the work of LRC highlighting good practice and lessons learned.
II. Technical content contextualization
- Create regional scenarios for use in regional training, simulations and wrokshops
- Compilation and standardization of applicable CVA resources (e.g. protocols, software, packages for training etc.)
- Support with the distribution and supervision of access to the materials linked with the cash hub (MENA page)
- Support with the development and implementation of CVA preparedness plans of action
III. Advocacy and networking
- Support in the implementation of advocacy, and development activities related to CVA policies mainly in the MENA region
- Support in identifying the key obstacles to mainstreaming and scaling up CVA in the region
- Documenting success stories of CVA in the region with relevant National Societies
- Support in maintaining up to date specific advocacy messages reflecting on policy horizon scanning in the MENA region
Function Specific Experience
- Minimum of 2 years technical experience in Cash and Vouchers programing
Industry Related Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the Disaster Management/disaster response within the humanitarian sector.
