The MEL Assistant will be working under the direct supervision of the MEL Officer and in a close coordination with the MELManager. She/he will be mainly responsible of gathering data, follow up on activities and reporting.Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Collect and systemize information on progress of the sectors of each activity of the project being implemented by DRC- Provide assistance in training, monitoring and evaluation, data collection, interviews, surveys, data clarity and data delivery to the MEL Officer- Coordinate closely and on a daily basis with the MEL Officer on all data collection, data entry and data analysis- Assist in analyzing and compiling data to measure the progress and impact of projects’ activities- Assist in preparing the weekly and monthly reports
Protection
- If needed, conduct bilateral interviews and/or focus group discussion with vulnerable displaced households in order to identify specific and refer cases with specific needs- Ensure beneficiaries are respected and cared for during distribution activities- Prioritize vulnerable cases during distribution and provide needed support- Refer protection cases when identified to the protection team
Distribution and cards:
- Deal with complaints or issue related to distribution/cards during the distribution and through distribution hotline- Assess potential locations for distributions respecting DRC guidelines- Monitor and evaluate ongoing distribution and cards (ATM cards, E-cards) activities and report on unmet needs and gaps- Conduct training to beneficiaries during the distribution- Count the cards (ATM cards, E-cards) before/ after the distribution and report to the distribution officer
