Main Roles
The Blood Transfusion Services IT Coordinator is responsible for managing all IT activities within the BTS department and centers (in the branches), and coordinating with the ICT manager on IT related matters in order to ensure alignment with LRC IT plans, standards and policies.
Operational Roles and Responsibilities
Software Management
Implement, test and deploy BTS software(s) (LRC CRM as well as “e-Delpyhn” by Hemasoft);
Develop roll-out plans based on BTS strategy and action plans
Monitor the adoption and use of the new BTS software in all branches and provide reports and recommendations
Gather requirements from BTS users when new systems (e.g. materials management, asset management) or functionalities are to-be implemented
Conduct/coordinate with external supplier(s) the design activities of new functionalities
Conduct/manage with external supplier(s) any developments needed (such as upgrades, new functionalities, development of analytics/dashboards and reports based on data retrieved from the BTS software)
Lead testing activities from establishing a test plan, developing test scripts, conducting SIT, leading UAT with users, and managing go-live activities
Recommend to the BTS Director improvements related to software(s) and infrastructure if needed (e.g. connectivity between centers) in order to improve the efficiency of BTS processes
Data Management
Maintain the BTS database from a technical perspective e.g. data structures and reports
Create data management procedures, at the database level, in order to maintain the accuracy of data; entry, cleansing, and stabilization
Create backup systems and corresponding procedures in order to prevent loss of information
IT Security
Align the IT security policies with LRC standards in consultation with the ICT Manager and monitor compliance to those policies across all BTS centers
Establish relevant procedures to safeguard the security of the donors information and blood units data
Infrastructure
Monitor and maintain computer systems and network
Maintain network services to ensure constant connectivity of all technical devices in BTS headquarter and centers
Support the BTS communication network between BTS branches
Supplier Relationship
Coordinate and manage relationships with external software/hardware suppliers in coordination with IT manager.
Maintain the contact with all software providers (Hemasoft and others) on all technical aspects, when needed
User Support
Manage the daily running of IT infrastructure in all BTS centers and give support to staff in the branches on IT; support the staff in the centers with advice, instructions and help via telephone and site visits
Act as an IT point of contact helpdesk, managing incidents and fulfilling basic requests for all BTS users (e.g. password resets)
Develop and deliver the necessary trainings, together with functional users, for staff on the new software and hardware
Other IT related activities
Evaluate, procure and replace material/equipment when needed in line with LRC procurement policies and procedures.
Keep up to data with technology trends in relation to BTS; analyze future BTS IT needs and propose adequate solutions.
Coordinate the introduction of new software(s) and hardware(s) in BTS with the LRC ICT Manager.
Support and assist as required the LRC ICT Manager with the handling of all LRC IT infrastructure in case of availability.
