Media Officer - Delegation of the Qatar Red Crescent Society in Lebanon

Main Role

The Media Officer is responsible of disseminating information of general and newsworthy interest to the media. 

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

• Help projects’ staff of QRCS in the dissemination of information about their projects. 
• Write case studies under general supervision of Head of Mission (HoM).
• Ensure the quality of any media related work.
• Proper use of media equipment.
• Conduct photography for each project phase in coordination with projects team.
• Write, proofread and edit fieldwork case studies for a media.
• Coordinate the design and print promotional material such brochures, calendars etc.
• Coordinate the production of various promotional videos on behalf of QRCS.
• Maintain the archives of media database and materials
• Respond promptly and efficiently to media enquiries
• Occasionally address public meetings on QRCS and its work
• Heavily travel to projects locations in Lebanon.
• Ensure the provision of all visibility requirements in the field.

Function Specific Experience

• Experience in different services and activities related to media work
• Experience in writing reports and case studies for media coverage
• Experience in designing brochures and printed documents for media purposes
• Perform other reasonable tasks as directed by the Head of mission and Media team in Doha. 
• Able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
• Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work

Industry Related Experience

• Previous experience in working with NGOs
• Previous experience as an LRC volunteer is an asset
