Essential Responsibilities and Duties

 

Operational Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Program Support: Contributing to the design, implementation, and evaluation of NCD interventions in primary care, based on best practices and guidelines. Acting as a liaison between headquarters and primary care facilities, providing support and guidance on NCD program implementation.
  2. Capacity Building: Providing technical support and guidance to primary healthcare workers on NCD management, screening, and patient education. This includes facilitating or supporting NCD training/workshops for staff and volunteers, including coordinating and supporting courses for volunteers and staff under the supervision of the MSS Social Workers Manager.
  3. Participates in research activities related to NCDs: Oversee the collection of data from patients and healthcare providers at primary care facilities, ensure data quality and completeness, Work closely with the research team at headquarters, providing updates on data collection progress and any challenges encountered in the field
  4. Material Development: Developing and preparing educational materials related to NCDs.
  5. Field Visits & Reporting: Conducting regular field visits to healthcare centers to monitor activity implementation and compliance. Providing prompt reports to MSS Managers on field visits, highlighting challenges and required actions. Assisting with NCD program activity reporting as needed.
  6. Meeting Support: Assisting the MSS Social Workers Manager with project meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation, feedback collection, minute-taking, and action item follow-up.
  7. Other Duties: Performing other related tasks as assigned by the MS Director and MSS Social Workers Manager.

Function Specific Experience

  • Experience in NCD prevention and control
  • Experience in public health programs (working on projects related to disease prevention, health promotion or community health outreach
  • Experience in primary healthcare settings
  • Experience in developing educational materials
  • Experience in data entry and analysis (Microsoft Excel)

 

Industry Related Experience

  • Previous experience as an LRC volunteer is an asset
  • Experience in similar volunteer-based organizations or humanitarian organizations is preferred
