Nurse - Achrafieh Dispensary (Mondays to Fridays: 8am till 2pm & Saturdays: 8am till 1pm)

Main Role

The Registered Nurse provides nursing care through the development and implementation of nursing care plans. He/she collaborates with Physicians on a daily basis and assesses beneficiaries’ health needs. The Registered Nurse also advises beneficiaries on health promotion, maintenance and disease prevention topics.

 

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Operational Roles and Responsibilities

  • Identify beneficiary care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual MS beneficiaries
  • Perform basic assessments on beneficiaries such as measuring pulse rates, blood pressures, temperatures and others as requested by the Physician
  • Ensure quality of care by adhering to standards set by MSD HQ
  • Protect beneficiaries and employees by maintaining a safe and clean working environment and adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration, and controlled substance regulations
  • Provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to beneficiaries and their families
  • Teach beneficiaries and their families to understand their medical conditions, medications, and self-care skills; answer questions in an ethical manner
  • Document beneficiary care services by charting in patient and department records
  • Record all necessary data related to beneficiaries’ care including assessment results, care interventions and medication prescriptions with accuracy and detail
  • Analyze and interpret beneficiaries’ histories, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses and apply the appropriate care plans
  • Develop and communicate reports on overall nursing operations effectiveness and efficiency and existing and/or potential risks to Head of branch
  • Order and receive the needed medicine from the Central Pharmacy. Maintain medicine inventory on a daily basis and follow-up on the expiry date of drugs
  • Conduct educational lectures and sessions related to Health promotion in communities
  • Refer and coordinate with the Social Worker for any social and/or psychological case identified
  • Refer antenatal and reproductive health cases to the Midwife when needed
