Psychosocial Support Officer (Disaster Management Dept.)

Operational Roles and Responsibilities

  • Plan for, implements and monitors PSS activities for the DM Sector according to the overall PSS national strategy and program
  • Coordinate and work with the PSS officers from Medico-Social (MS) and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to facilitate and promote PSS cross-cutting results and team work across LRC Sectors (DM, MS and EMS)
  • Participate in or ensure representation of DM Sector when relevant in inter-departmental PSS committee meetings and UN coordination meetings/working groups at central level. 
  • Submit timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual narrative and financial reports on the PSS activities 
  • Conduct monitoring field visits on a regular basis to the different project sites to ensure that activities are being implemented according to the national PSS plan and specific DM plans 
  • Provide technical support on psychosocial support, gender-based violence, and child protection to DM field teams in relation to project activities and HQ teams in relation to programs integration in DM
  • Organize, facilitate (when applicable) and support project related trainings/workshops for staff and volunteers
  • Support consultants and the PSS Program Manager to plan baseline studies and evaluations
  • Support HQ to prepare field visits for donors
  • Provide support and coordination for MHPSS/CP/GBV referrals in the field
  • Support in content development of PSS program materials (tools, protocols, guidelines, etc.)

 

RFL Responsibilities & Duties

  • Understand the RFL guidelines and ensure that they are followed by staff and volunteers
  • Build the capacity of DM volunteers 
  • Open files for individual cases and follow-up (classifying, raising, closing, statistics)
  • Ensure the proper classification system (individual and thematic)
  • Being responsible for the communication between the main RFL manager  and the field volunteers, the branch or local office and other Movement representatives who conduct RFL activities in the affected area;
  •  Implement the planning of LRC RFL activities, including field visits
  • Organize (if necessary) the activities of the teams in the field (composition of the teams, tasks, places to visit, briefing and debriefing of teams);
  • Be the LRC DM focal person for the implementation of the " Restoring Family Links” Strategy
