Psychosocial Support (PSS) Field Officer

 

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Follow up withthe Social Workers on day-to-day activity plans and data entry.
  2. Compile andanalyze data using excel reports on a monthly basis.
  3. Conduct regular field visits to the different project sites, according to the plan and need, to ensure that activities are being implemented according to plan and in compliance with monitoring and evaluation tools.
  4. Provide prompt and concise reports to the MSS PSS Program Coordinator on field visits,highlighting any challenges or required actions.
  5. Assist in the reporting of the PSS program activities when asked and needed.
  6. Assist in facilitating or supporting project related trainings/workshops for staff and volunteers on PSS-related topics. Coordinates with and supports PSS trainers conducting courses for MS volunteers and staff, under the supervision and support of the MSS PSS Program Coordinator.
  7. Assist the MSS PSS Program Coordinator in calling for project meetings, preparing agendas for meetings, taking minutes of meeting and following up on the action points as per the set deadlines.
  8. Participate in meetings when needed and provide feedback on meetings to the MSS PSS Program Coordinator.
  9. When needed, support the LRC PSS & PGI Core team.

Function Specific Experience

  • Experience in psychosocial support, and the monitoring and evaluation of project activities
  • Experience in report writing
  • Experience in PSS community based interventions
  • Experience in data entry and analysis (Microsoft, Excel etc.)
  • Excellent speaking and writing skills in both Arabic and English

 

Industry Related Experience

  • Previous experience as an LRC volunteer is an asset
  • Experience in similar volunteer-based organizations or humanitarian organizations is preferred
  • Driving license is a must

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in coordination internally and externally
  • Experience in providing technical supervision to field teams on Psychosocial Support and on Protection, Gender,

and Inclusion (PGI).

  • Experience in training field staff on Psychosocial Support and PGI related topics.
  • Experience in community health and development is of added value (Example: Community Based Health and​​​​​​​ First Aid etc.).
  • Experience in collecting and analyzing data  
  • Ability to work under pressure in challenging working conditions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to develop, use and manage tracking systems
