Psychosocial Support (PSS) Program Officer

Operational Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Follow up with the Social Workers on the day to day PSS activities and data entry.
  2. Conduct on a weekly basis at least two monitoring field visits to the different project sites to ensure that activities are being implemented according to plan and in compliance with monitoring and evaluation tools; as well as provide on-site support and coaching to implementing staff and volunteers.
  3. Provide prompt and concise reports to the MS PSS Coordinator on field visits, highlighting any challenges or required actions.
  4. Participate in national PSS activities and discussions with the national PSS team when possible and necessary.
  5. Provide technical support on psychosocial, gender-based violence, and child protection to MS field teams in relation to project activities. 

  6. Facilitate the PSS trainings and workshops and/or support the PSS Trainers in conducting courses for MS volunteers and staff.
  7. Contribute to the Monitoring & Evaluation strategy/system.
  8. Assists the PSS Coordinator in calling for PSS meetings, preparing agendas for meetings, ensuring feedback from the field, taking minutes and following up on the action points from these meetings according to agreed deadlines.
  9. Submit accurate and on time reports/ feedback.
  10. Submit a compiled PSS action plan to the MS PSS Coordinator on a monthly basis, and advise in a timely manner of any variations/updates.
  11. Participate when requested by line manager to Protection Working groups at governorate level and central level. Provide feedback on meetings to the MS PSS Coordinator.

  • Experience in similar volunteer-based organizations or humanitarian organizations
  • Experience in community health and development (e.g. Community Based Health and First Aid)
