Main Role
The Psychosocial Support (PSS) Program Officer will be responsible for general administration and financial matters related to the LRC PSS Program. She/ He will be responsible in keeping track of the PSS, Protection Gender and inclusion (PGI) program implementation.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Plan, implement and monitor PSS activities for the PSS & PGI program in the Youth Sector according to the overall PSS national strategy and program
- Coordinate and work with the PSS Core team officers to facilitate and promote PSS cross-cutting results and team work across LRC Sectors (DM, MS and EMS)
- Participate in or ensure representation of Youth Sector when relevant in inter-departmental PSS committee meetings and UN coordination meetings/working groups at central level.
- Submit timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual narrative and financial reports on the PSS activities
- Conduct monitoring field visits on a regular basis to the different project sites to ensure that activities are being implemented according to the national PSS plan and specific to youth plans
- Provide technical support on psychosocial support, gender-based violence, and child protection to field teams in relation to project activities and HQ teams in relation to programs integration in youth
- Organize, facilitate and train on PSS & PGI related trainings/workshops for staff and volunteers
- Support consultants and the PSS Program Manager to plan baseline studies and evaluations
- Support HQ to prepare field visits for donors
- Provide support and coordination for MHPSS/CP/GBV referrals in the field
- Support in content development of PSS program materials (tools, protocols, guidelines, etc.)
- Organize (if necessary) the activities of the teams in the field (composition of the teams, tasks, places to visit, briefing and debriefing of teams);
- Support the successful implementation of PSS & PGI, including financial and narrative reporting.
- Contribute to establishing and implementing operational work plans, setting clear targets and activity plans for ongoing project for the PSS & PGI component
- Prepare project/program related documents and reports and support in the preparation of project proposals as requested. Support the development and maintenance of appropriate project management tools as requested.
- Support in the monitoring and evaluation of the projects/programs both with field visits and the preparation/analyses of M&E and tracking tools. Contributes to the project assessment process (recruitment of consultant, review and validation of deliverables, preparation of terms of reference, etc.).
- Identify key issues or potential challenges on PSS & protection and support the development of analysis and recommendations way forward.
- Collect, register and maintain all information on PSS program activities ensuring adherence records/information management systems/processes.
- Prepare agendas and arrange field visits, appointments and meetings both internal and external related to the project activities and write minutes from the meetings.
- Follow up on office administration issues (e.g. payments for stationary, hotel, trainings).
Function Specific Experience
- Experience in project management and the monitoring and evaluation of project activities
- Experience of working for a humanitarian aid organization in Lebanon
- Experience of writing monthly reports
Industry Related Experience
- Experience in providing technical supervision to field teams on Psychosocial Support and Child Protection and Gender Based Violence
- Experience in training field staff on Psychosocial Support, Child Protection and Gender Based Violence
- Experience in community health and development (for e.g. Community Based Health and First Aid)
- Experience in UNHCR coordination system
- Previous experience as an LRC volunteer is an asset
