Social Worker (Baalback health center)

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

1. Performs initial screening and evaluation of individuals, groups and communities for vulnerability in relation to set criteria to assess and review their situation.
2. Collaborates with members of the health team, to assure individual and communities ‘health, psychosocial and socioeconomics needs are addressed wherever possible.
3. Counsels patients in individual and group sessions to help them overcome dependencies, recover from difficulties, and adjust to life.
4. Collaborates and refers cases as necessary to LRC services or any external NGOs as needed.
5. Organizes support groups or counsel family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with, and supporting themselves and community under the PSS program.
6. Recognizes patients with underlying special cases and makes necessary referrals.
7. Organize activities to address the needs of the communities.
8. Leads the community based work with the participation of the community stakeholders.
9. Recruits and trains a network of community volunteers.
10. Organize and prepare trainings for community volunteers.
