Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Project Manager, the Community Kitchen Coordinator, will develop, facilitate and implement a Community Kitchen Program that supports & encourages the targeted beneficiaries to actively attend and participate.
- The Kitchen Coordinator will ensure the kitchen has all necessary supplies, will maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen that meets all health & safety guidelines, provide meals independently for the community when required, and will have strong budgeting and organizational skills to effectively maintain weekly menus and food supply orders while working within the constraints the beneficiaries experience (i.e. limited budgets, lack of access to transportation, lack of proper equipment, etc.).
- In addition, the role will include facilitating community activities, providing support & supervision to kitchen workers, and volunteers, and coordinating and distributing Food orders.
- The Community Kitchen coordinator will continue to provide support to the beneficiaries by taking referrals and completing intake, crisis prevention, intervention & conflict, providing beneficiaries with one-to-one support and advocacy, assisting beneficiaries moving in and moving out, keeping accurate records, files, log notes, and statistical information as per practices/policy and maintains the safety and security of the kitchen.
- Creating schedules for all kitchen staff in coordination with the chef.
- Maintains excellent communication with Production, Shipping, and other departments to ensure an excellent service level is achieved, by working as a team in harmony.
- Any other mission as per the need of the project deliverables.

- Experience doing community kitchens and/or passionate about all aspects of it.

- Demonstrated ability to take action in a crisis management environment.

- Proven willingness to roll up your sleeves and support beneficiaries in the ways they ask/need.

- A well-developed understanding of and commitment to anti-oppression work and intersectionality.
- Have significant experience as a frontline support worker working with women affected by violence/abuse, combined with relevant education and or skill-based training.
- A valid First Aid Certificate is required.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention is an added value.
