Project Coordinator

LPHU is a grassroots organization built by and for people with disabilities. We believe that we have an important role to play in arriving at our vision of society by working with people with disabilities, a population that has been traditionally marginalized. As such, our specific mission is the following: • To defend the rights of people with disabilities; more specifically to work towards their access to equal opportunities and a quality life and to ensure that their basic needs (health, education, employment, socio-economic integration, freedom of choice) are fully respected and guaranteed • To eradicate marginalization and gender discrimination from the lives of people with physical disabilities • To mobilize people with physical disabilities to speak on their own behalf • To promote the spread of a culture of inclusion and right of participation   Mission1: Ensure LPHU’s representation  Make LPHU’s activities known; ensure to keep LPHU’s image and specificities intact. Represent the association officially within the project and promote an apolitical, non-sectarian, non discriminatory, inclusive and innovative image, respectful of diversity. Ensure that, in their relationships with third parties, the association and its team members respect its mandate, ethics, guiding principles, image and position. Defend the association’s interests.   Mission2: Donors management  Assist the programs manager on the relation with donors (regular follow up, reporting, field visits, etc.)Participate on donors reports production (narratives and financial)   Mission 3: Coordination of the project implementation Supervision and management of the project Definition of the project objectives, results expected and deadlines Develop an action plan and management system in collaboration and under supervision of the programs manager. Manage and follow up the general log frame of the project Ensure that the programs  manager is regularly up dated on the project activities Take the necessary decisions in collaboration and under the supervision of the programs  manager according to the different project priorities Follow project through the project cycle and unsure good evaluation Integrate all LPHU guiding principles elements of evaluation (different from project result) Draft a monthly report on the all activities. List all activities done in the project on the official LPHU website   Partnership Coordination Supervise the coordination of the local actors relationship (such as private, municipalities), essentially on technical aspects Assist the Project Manager on the national actors relationship (such as ministries, institutions, private sector, NGOs), essentially on technical aspects collaborate  with the programs manager  on the regional and international actors relationship (such as foreign public agency, INGOs), essentially on technical aspects Keep all actors updated on the project’s evolutions, on regular basis Enhance interactions between the different actors   Push all kind of new actors to get involved within LPHU’s area of intervention       Financial management Supervision of the project budget, in coordination with the Programs manager Follow up on monthly basis the expenditures of the project Ensure that all expenses related to the project meet with donors requirements Give an idea of the necessary amount of cash flow needed in order to cover the project expenses   Human Resources management Supervision of the project’s  human resources, in coordination with the project manager Define the project’s needs in terms of human resources Draw terms of references for the different positions needed in collaboration with the Project Manager Identification, and recruitment of the necessary HR to implement the project Follow up with project members, and evaluate the work done. Provide  staff with additional trainings when needed   Logistics management Supervision of the project’s logistics Ensure that all purchases related to the project meet with donors requirements in collaboration with programs manager Manage the general logistics of the project, in coordination with the field staff (transports, distribution, etc.)    Field coordination management Ensure that all necessary information flows between all focal points of the project Supervise local coordinators and help them to achieve project goals Ensure the smooth mutual support between focal points Coordinate directly with field officers and logistic officer Ensure that all collected data, studies, information are archived and available for all LPHU centers Mission 4.1 Researches Coordination Coordination of the researches necessary for the implementation of the project , under the supervision of the programs manager.   Coordination of the research  designs (terms of reference) Follow up on data collection, results achieved and analysis provided Presentation of the research results to project team, local and national partners   Mission4.2.: Guidebooks and Toolkit Coordinate the production of the toolkits and guide books in collaboration with the consultants and under the supervision of the programs manager Design the term of reference of the guide books and toolkits production under the supervision of the programs manager. Revise the scientific information included in the toolkits and guide books and give recommendation.         Mission 5: Coordination of the relationship with local institutions Coordinate the relationship with local institution, under the supervision of the programs manager Coordinate the capacity building of the small NGOs on advocacy and law 220 under the supervision of the programs manager Integrate all the local actors  within the decision process related to the project orientations. Provide keys elements (such as scientific data) to municipalities, other NGOs schools, private sector in order to facilitate the decision making process.     Misson 6: Media Good media skills when it comes to spots and media reports. Knowledge on how to update a website on a regular basis when required.
