Trainer – Food Preservation and Packaging

The project aims to reduce the impact of the economic and COVID crisis on the living conditions of 200 families and community engagement with active support to disability and gender equality for WGwDs

Duties and responsibilities:

• Assess the training needs of the targeted beneficiaries.
• Prepare the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of Packaging that will be followed throughout the project. 
• Develop a tailored learning plan to introduce the food packaging, including: Principles of flexible and rigid packaging of foods. Investigation of packaging types related to use with various food systems and packaging permeability. Passive and active packaging including modified atmosphere packaging and controlled atmosphere storage of foods. Reuse, disposability and printing of packaging. Labeling techniques and legislative requirements for labeling food and beverage products.
• Coordinate with the project team (especially the Occupational therapist) for the adaptation of the curriculum as needed.
• Train and mentor the persons with disabilities targeted through the project (Assign 12 training days).
• Prepare a cumulative training report of the above outputs, including observations and recommendations, and analysis of the results.  
• Perform other duties when required.

Requirements and skills:

• Previous experience working with NGO’s 
• Team work skills
• Proven capacity in leadership and teamwork.
• Excellent training skills.
• Excellent communication skills and team building skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English.
• A commitment to promoting and supporting persons with disabilities’ rights. 
• Ability to deliver on tight time frames and meet deadlines within agreed budgets.
• The trainer should have the following personal attributes:
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Excellent organization and planning skills; detail oriented
• Flexibility to adapt to changing conditions and requirements.
