Call of interest - Civil Society Strengthening in Lebanon

This project implemented by RDFL in partnership with Plan International funded by SIDA will contribute further into civil society strengthening through multiple approaches and modalities. It will Increase enjoyment of human rights by women and girls and the advancement of gender equality in a vibrant and pluralistic civil society.

How?

Support Youth CBOs, aligned with a clear mission and vision, enhancing their skills in feminist leadership, management, resource mobilisation and in sustainability trainings and strengthening their knowledge on gender equality and SRHR to increase further community referrals particularly in relation to SRHR. Contribute to a network for “champions of change” through training the CBO facilitators to implement the modality with adolescents and youth, as well as parents, caregivers within the local most vulnerable communities, and co-designing an exit strategy with local leaders and adolescents and youth involved in champions of change to ensure sustainability of action.

Selection

Based on clear criteria in favor of strengthening Youth CBO’s work and capacities in the field of GBV, SRHR related topics, and women’s rights issues. The Youth CBO must be operational in Bekaa area.

What we Offer

Plan, RDFL, and the selected Youth CBOs will work on a mutual appraisal by assessing each other’s capacity and conduct a due diligence process. This process of “mutual appraisal” is important for mutual accountability and for establishing trust and a strong foundation for successful partnership. Where capacity strengthening is one purpose of the partnership, appraisals should result in capacity-building plans with adequate resources to fund them. These should be implemented with clear mutual oversight.

Therefore, technical and financial support will be provided to the CBOs in order to have the necessary resources and empowerment to further develop and sustain their organizational capacity and development, as well as their capacity to efficiently reach out.

Therefore, the CBOs will be empowered thematically and organizationally to reach out with own initiatives and advocate for social and legal change on local level. In addition, we will strengthen CBO’s capacities to raise awareness on SGBV, SRH and advocate for improving legislation and gender related issues in their communities.
