RDFL_Video production call

1.Background

The Lebanese Women Democratic Gathering (RDFL) is a feminist, secular, non-governmental organization advocating for and raising awareness about the rights of women and girls in Lebanon. Founded in 1976, the RDFL is one of the oldest feminist organizations, one based on volunteerism.

RDFL’s vision is to achieve equality between women and men in all spheres and to provide protection from gender-based violence.

RDFL’s mission is to work on and advocate for the elimination of gender-based violence and all forms of discrimination, and to achieve full citizenship for women through a widespread and empowered membership and in collaboration with civil society. 

RDFL in partnership with Trocaire is planning to consult a filmmaker or production house to produce an impactful social media video with Masidama beneficiaries.

The main goal of this call is to find a passionate and creative videographer who can capture the powerful impact of the MASIDAMA sessions on their beneficiaries. These 17 sessions covered diverse topics aimed at transforming mindsets and empowering women to take on leadership and decision-making roles in their communities. The featured beneficiaries will serve as role models—women who are actively developing their capacities and striving to make their voices heard in society.

The videographer is expected to highlight this transformation by filming participants both during the sessions and in external locations, capturing authentic and inspiring moments that reflect their journey, growth, and determination.

The expected outputs will be as follows:

1. A compelling short video ( 2 to 3 min) showcasing the personal transformation of MASIDAMA beneficiaries, with footage from both session settings and real-life contexts.
2. Increased visibility of empowered women taking leadership and decision-making roles in their communities, serving as relatable role models.
3. Raised awareness in Lebanese society about the importance of capacity-building and women’s participation in societal change.
4. Strengthened public engagement in supporting women’s empowerment and leadership through storytelling and visual advocacy.

2.   Criteria for Submitting

 Applicants mut meet the following criteria:

•  A senior filmmaker with a team that is legally registered ad have actual operations in Lebanon
• Be directly responsible for the preparation/ management/implementation of the project
• Be experienced in the field of video production, animation, editing, voice-over, subtitles and photography
• Respond to all quotation or financial papers requests throughout the project
• Having Arabic-speaker staff on board is compulsory
• Deliver tangible and efficient results
• Be able to efficiently budget and contribute to the success of the activities.
• Be in possession of technical equipment (camera, software, etc.) required for the production of deliverables.

3     List of Deliverables

• Create video storyboard and script (optimized for social media) based on briefings provided by RDFL, in accordance with RDFL’s brand guidelines and the visibility requirements of RDFL's donors;

• Edit and produce a strong, final video that includes subtitles, RDFL branded elements and donor logos (during the editing phase of the video, RDFL requires several feedback rounds before final delivery.)
