Environmental Legal Expert

1. BACKGROUND

Lebanon Eco Movement is implementing, in partnership with Lebanese Environment Forum an Action entitled: “Lebanese civil Society combatting for a plastic free Mediterranean Sea” funded by EU Lebanon Eco Movement wishes to undertake the consultancy services for an Environmental Legal Expert.

2. PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT

Lebanon Eco Movement is seeking the consultancy services of an Environmental Legal Expert under the Action entitled “Lebanese civil Society combatting for a plastic free Mediterranean Sea” to conduct research on plastic waste regulations, provide recommendations on environmental laws and support planned advocacy campaign on the legal level.  

3. SCOPE OF WORK

The Environmental Legal Expert will have the following duties and responsibilities:

• Conduct researches on marine litter and plastic pollution regulations.
• Draft a legislative framework.
• Provide recommendations on existing environmental laws.
• Propose new regulations.

4. TECHNICAL DELIVERABLES

• Research on plastic waste regulations
• Recommendations on environmental laws
• New proposed regulations.

5. WORK DURATION

The activity will be conducted between September 14th, 2018 and January 15th, 2019 thus the work duration shall not exceed 40 expert days including that doing researches, conducting meetings, delivering recommendations and proposing new regulations.
