Communication & Outreach Assistant

Background

The Lebanon Reforestation Initiative (LRI) is a Lebanese NGO registered at the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities under no. 1186 on 18 June 2014 and had started as a project launched in 2010 by the United States Forest Service (USFS) Office of International Programs (IP) through the support and funding of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The project is implementing a community-based reforestation program that has resulted so far in the planting of more than half- a-million native trees throughout Lebanon since 2011.  It promotes a community-led approach to reforestation, bringing together diverse committed municipalities, community stakeholders, Lebanese civil society organizations, and other actors such as the private sector, to restore and replant degraded community lands. To pursue this intention, LRI plans to recruit a communication & outreach assistant intern, to help the office meet its need for various communication duties.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Update calendar of events on monthly basis
• Update the list of partners
• Coordinate with the Graphic Designer on the submission of the requested visuals
• Support the Communication & Outreach Manager in preparing the social media’s daily posts
• Support the Communication & Outreach Manager in updating the website content
• Assist with the coordination and facilitation of events, meetings and workshops
• Undertake administrative tasks as needed (purchase requests, meeting minutes, etc...)
• Other duties as requested by the Communication & Outreach Manager

Experience required: No experience is required, but 1-2 years of experience is a plus

Education degree: Bachelor Degree

Field of education: A background in marketing, communication, journalism or any related field
