INTRODUCTION

LRI drives transformative environmental solutions by restoring ecosystems, enhancing climate resilience, and promoting sustainable agriculture and land management. Through innovation, advocacy, and policy engagement, we empower communities, especially women and youth to lead in circular economy models and green enterprises, ensuring long-term environmental and socio-economic sustainability.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
LRI is preparing to implement a multi-year integrated recovery project “Economic Recovery” in conflict-affected areas of South Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley, aiming to contribute to inclusive, sustainable, and climate-resilient recovery. The project responds to the severe impacts of conflict, climate stress, and economic crisis on agricultural systems, local economies, and municipal service delivery.
The project adopts an area-based and integrated approach, combining:
- rehabilitation of conflict-damaged agricultural land, water infrastructure, and ecosystems.
- promotion of climate-smart agriculture, agroecology, and strengthened agricultural cooperatives.
- support to MSMEs, entrepreneurship, employability, and vocational training for youth, women, and vulnerable groups.
- and strengthening of municipal governance through participatory recovery planning and quick-impact projects.
Implementation will be carried out in close coordination with municipalities, unions of municipalities, national institutions, cooperatives, and local communities, ensuring social inclusion, environmental sustainability, and local ownership. Attention will be given to gender equality, youth inclusion, displacement-affected populations, and persons with disabilities.
Within this framework, the project team will play a critical role in ensuring effective implementation, coordination, monitoring, and quality control of activities across agriculture, livelihoods, and governance components, in line with LRI’s standards, donor requirements, and national recovery priorities.
