  Lebanon Reforestation Initiative Terms of Reference Short-term mapping assistant I. INTRODUCTION Project Background Information The Lebanon Reforestation Initiative (LRI) is a Lebanese NGO registered at the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities under no. 1186 on 18 June 2014. LRI is managing a project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by the United States Forest Service (USFS) that provides technical assistance and institutional support for sustainable native tree reforestation and wildfire management. With administrative offices in Beirut, LRI technical experts manage a multi-year work program of activities throughout Lebanon in collaboration with grassroots organizations and local communities Mapping The Mapping team at LRI works on mapping LRI and partner activities, as well as develop updated vegetation and reforestation sites map on the national level.   II. PURPOSE OF THE WORK LRI seeks a short-term mapping assistant to work together with LRI team to: Assist in the mapping workplan using ArGIS and modeling softwares on an as-needed basis  Follow up on data collection from corridor planning committees to develop master plans for the CPCs. Support other LRI components in developing maps to show their activities, as well as partners’ activities. Support in the development of webmaps for LRI’s website.   III. EXPECTED DELIVERABLES  In close coordination with the LRI’s components, the short term mapping assistant will: - Develop master plans for the CPCs - Develop maps representing LRI’s activities - Develop webmaps for LRI’s website         IV. Qualifications/REQUIREMENTS The short- term mapping assistant should possess the following competencies, skills, and experience: BS in environmental/agricultural degrees with knowledge in mapping software (ArcGIS, QGIS and ArcGIS Online). Knowledge in Google Earth. Excellent MS Excel skills Oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic languages. Excellent organizational and interpersonal capabilities Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines   V.
