Communication Officer

Main Responsibilities:   Producing written reports, newsletters, expenses reports press, brochures, leaflets, posters, flyers releases in English and Arabic; Developing and maintaining social media and website on a regular basis; Supporting team on making sure that donor compliance with regards to visibility; Undertake field trips to the various implemented activities with media representatives; Developing data base of media contacts and keeping them up-to-date; On request from the Head of Officer, be responsible for planning outreach events designed to build relationships with outside constituencies; Create opportunities to access new partners and other sources of funding; Promoting LebRelief’s strategy, approaches, mission, and vision; Handling inquiries from the media and stakeholders; Ensure LebRelief is being featured and mentioned in local and international media; Develop and maintain professional contacts with key local and international print, radio and TV media and assist them by offering story opportunities, arranging project visits and interviews.   Skills and Qualifications: Diploma or degree in journalism, communications Experience working in communications or journalism or a related field. Very strong ability to write, edit, and speak English Previous experience writing, editing and/or publishing articles and taking photos Strong computer literacy Cross-cultural sensitivity and understanding of social and political environment Sound knowledge of publishing, design and printing process excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment Self-starter; enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives Experience in a non-profit organization Capacity to handle discomfited situations in public settings Experience with a communication on Human Rights Law and/or Refugee rights Knowledge of internet publishing tools, photo editing and multimedia
