Concrete Skilled Labor

Responsibilities:

Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete for footings, floors, sidewalks, curbs, slabs, and other concrete structures;

Checks the concrete forms for appropriate depths and angles before concrete is poured;

Uses hand tools and power tools including floats, trowels, and screeds;

Levels, wets and rubs concrete with hand tools to get desired finish;

Remove rough and defective spots from concrete surfaces using power grinder or power chisel;

Patch holes or defects with fresh concrete or epoxy ;

Lift and set rails for finishing machine;

Carry, load, or unload materials;

Dig with picks, shovels, air hammers, jack hammers or other construction related equipment as required;

Clean up site trash and debris and place in dumpster or appropriate dedicated disposal area;

Lift and place lagging boards onto shoring walls;

Work with materials such as: wood, concrete, steel;

Work with and maintain construction related equipment when needed (grout machines, drilling machines, compressors);

Work with hoses for all types of machines on the job site;

May be temporarily assigned to carpenter or laborer – type work to fill in between finishing duties

Responsible for own and participants safety and required to wear proper jobsite PPE as directed

Continuous standing and walking required throughout a scheduled work shift.

Must be able to bend, squat, and kneel and crawl. Ability to work on knees for long periods of time.

Must be able to work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot and humid weather.

Position requires acceptable corrected vision (in both eyes) and acceptable corrected hearing.

Must be able to reach, lift and perform work above shoulder height – and the ability to work on uneven surfaces and in confided spaces.
