Project officer (Education and Child Protection)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure a smooth exchange between LebRelief team, beneficiaries and the community and provide technical support when needed;
  • Conduct daily classroom observation and mentor sessions in the assigned locations;
  • Follow up on the proper implementation of the NFE curriculum and teachers’ attendance;
  • Identify teachers’ capacity building needs and structure capacity building and professional development plan for teachers in the assigned locations;
  • Ensure quality and minimum protection standards implemented and respected in all activities, including SGBV.
  • Support students’ registration and monitor regular attendance and drop-out;
  • Ensure a strict adherence to the principles of Protection at all times, including respect for confidentiality;
  • Arrange and ensure that all procurement requests and plans are delivered as per the requirements of the team;
  • Create and update the activity plans per activity/programmed site;
  • Communicate the targets, programmed objectives and activity plans clearly to ensure that they are well understood among the teachers and social workers;
  • Establish and maintain a monthly and weekly work plan, which will include weekly monitoring visits to all the implemented programmatic activities;
  • Liaise with local institutions, such as SDCs and municipalities to ensure systems implemented at the regional level;
  • Report on weekly and monthly bases the target reached and the area of implementation, and challenges faced during the implementation;
  • Ensure a strict adherence to the principles of Protection at all times, including respect for confidentiality;
  • Work closely with all teams, with particular focus on Education and Food Security and Livelihoods team to ensure the program integration;
  • Attend education and protection-working groups, meetings and trainings to ensure an up to date cognition on the policies;
  • Other related activities may apply as per request of the Project Coordinator and/or Programme Manager.

Education:

  • Bachelor degree in social sciences, education or any relevant degree.

Related Skills:

  • Experience in managing people and working in a team;
  • Minimum of 3 years of working experience in education and protection sectors;
  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and meet deadlines;
  • Facilitation, capacity building experience and coaching skills;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills;
  • Good computer skills;
  • Reporting skills;
  • Ability to analyze information;
  • Strength in interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Fluent in written and spoken Arabic, good in written and spoken English;
  • Experience in working with refugee communities in Lebanon.
