Social Media Specialist

Reports to: Programme Manager                                                          

Functions/ Key Deliverables

Designing and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy and outreach plan that utilizes relevant channels online and social media including Face Book, twitter and Instagram for the dissemination of information on program activities.

  1. Technical scope:
  • To design and manage multimedia outlets and written content for use on social media including creating and promoting events calendar;
  • Produce virtual media campaign (enabling key messages, visual, FAQ’s, content material, posters, etc) promoting publications and program activities.
  • Keep abreast of trends, to research and proposing innovative content and outreach ideas;
  • Manage and implement a roll over boosting plan on social media; currently 1,000 followers to attract Syrian, Lebanese women and girls.
  • Design user friendly and effective tool kits/templates for LA online services including video calls, blogs;
  • Establish accounts on social media platforms in which the recipients perceive credible and trust-worthy information to be disseminated;
  • Signposting and referring stakeholders seeking services through various platforms to the focal point;
  • Continual awareness and publications about LA services and achievements;
  • Expand the total reach of audience for our campaigns by 50%

 

  1. General Administrative:
  • Troubleshooting online errors and periodically running maintenance checks.
  • Weekly reporting of summary analysis and results delivered;
  • Provide analysis and recommendations and collect insights and statistics on a regular basis to optimize the performance of the social media platforms.
  • To promote and raise awareness to recipients and execution of disseminated information including FAQs

Experience, Skills and Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism or any relevant field.
  • 3 years work experience in a similar role; social media management, content production, communications or other relevant fields;
  • Experience in developing communications strategies/plans;
  • Good knowledge and understanding of multimedia production and editing;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English with the ability to clearly articulate information to various audiences and stakeholders
  • Fluency in writing, speaking and understanding Arabic;
  • Demonstrated track record of designing graphics and use of design software;
  • Ability to establish positive relationships and to engage with various stakeholders;
  • Demonstrated track record of conducting successful research, outreach and use M&E tools.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively, including having excellent planning, organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure.

 

Preferred

  • Experience working with vulnerable groups, and a good understanding of the needs and challenges of vulnerable population.
