Employment Basis: Full Time Basis

Location: Legal Agenda Beirut Office – National Visits might be required

Job Duration: 3 months’ probation / 1 year contract renewable based on the availability of funds

Responsibilities:  

The Junior Legal Researcher will contribute to various projects implemented by the Legal Agenda, through data collection and research. The projects to which the researcher may be assigned include, but are not limited to, the Judicial Observatory for Judicial Independence and Transparency, The Civil Observatory for Parliament Monitoring, and The Strategic Litigation Department. The Researcher will be in charge of the following tasks, depending on the assigned project:

Observing trials in different Lebanese courts and collecting data;

Monitoring parliament sessions, collecting and organizing relevant data;

Assisting senior researchers in field work and research;

Developing comparative legal memos;

Contributing to multi-disciplinary research projects;

Contributing to on-going and new litigation cases, through drafting legal memos and legal research;

Developing strategic framework studies for public interest litigation cases.

Relevant qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Lebanese law;

A least one year experience;

High-level proficiency in Arabic (reading, writing and speaking). Knowledge of French and English is highly desirable.

An understanding of and commitment to Legal Agenda’s vision and work in Lebanon and the region.

Working hours: 09.00 AM – 06.00 PM from Monday to Friday.
