Field Officer

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Field Officer will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing field activities, conducting site visits, and liaising with stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of projects and programs. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in diverse and challenging environments.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and coordinate field operations to ensure the successful implementation of projects, maintaining quality standards and adherence to project objectives.
  • Work closely with communities to establish rapport, gather feedback, and facilitate their involvement in project activities.
  • Conduct regular field visits to project sites, monitoring progress, identifying challenges, and proposing solutions to address issues as they arise.
  • Collect data and information from the field using appropriate tools and methodologies, ensuring accuracy and relevance to project objectives.
  • Support the recruitment, training, and supervision of field staff and volunteers, providing guidance and support to enhance their effectiveness.
  • Coordinate logistical arrangements for field activities, including transportation, accommodation, and procurement of necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Liaise with project partners, local authorities, and community stakeholders to build relationships, address concerns, and foster collaboration.
  • Prepare field reports, updates, and documentation summarizing key findings, achievements, and challenges for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the identification of best practices and lessons learned from field operations, informing programmatic decision-making and strategy development.
  • Play a proactive role in problem-solving and decision-making in the field, ensuring timely and effective resolution of challenges to support the project's overall success.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • One to Two years of experience in field operations, project management, or community development.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of participatory approaches, community mobilization techniques, and rural development principles.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and work in remote or challenging environments.
