Maarouf Saad Social & Cultural foundation

Maarouf Saad Social and Cultural Foundation established in 1980, 118/AD, to provide services in education, primary health care, humanitarian development, social services to all marginalized communities without discrimination.

The foundation runs four major programs:

The Primary Health Care Program: It Provides primary health care services; consultation, dentistry, laboratory tests, and basic drugs. The program covers the free vaccination campaigns in collaboration with the ministry of health, in addition to hepatitis, and chronic diseases awareness campaigns. The services are provided at Maarouf Saad Popular clinic is located on the outskirts of Ein El Helwi camp, and Natasha Popular clinic is in the old city of Saida.

The Mental Health Program: It Provides psychological educational support for children and youth, psychomotor support for mothers, Academic Support for children to decrease drop-out rates, art and music therapy, popular and adult education, debriefing sessions for men, empowering women program through sewing, crochet, and makeup trainings, Hayat program for pregnant women to raise awareness about normal breastfeeding and delivery, Training and volunteerism program for students of psychology and social studies from the Lebanese university.   

The Social Assistance and Emergency program: It supports 1400 families through food packages, clothes, stationary, annually in Saida and the neighbourhood. Also it provides medical equipment for disabled and deficit families (Wheelchairs, water mattresses, glasses, canes, etc)

The Popular Rescue Team: A civil defense unit of 50 well trained volunteers, rapid intervention in case of emergency, to provide first aid, transport injured to and from hospitals, assistance to elderly at homes. Conducts blood donation campaigns, and close coordination with the primary health care program in its campaigns. The PRT had a big role after 4th of August, in providing medical services to more than 3500 injured.

TOR: Registered Nurse

The Nurse will provide medical assistance, vaccination and counseling in response to the needs of all patients with major and minor health problems. And also responsible for close coordination with the Health Center Coordinator.

 

Duties:

Primarily caregiver and the first point of contact for patients.

Monitor and track the patient’s vital signs, perform procedures like IV placement, help them in different tests and also administer medications

Keep track of a patient’s progress and enter the data in the patient’s report.

Make sure that equipment and other supplies are in stock

Check over patient’s medication

Perform some guiding and counseling sessions about health issues and hygiene

Assist social workers to differentiate between chronic and non-chronic medications

Assist in distributing the medication for the detainees upon the doctor prescriptions

Follow up pregnant women and matrix at the end of each month

Monitor chronic medications and setting tables to be submitted at the end of each month

Assess patients at the center if in need of wound care

Close coordination with the Health Center Coordinator.

Responsible for vaccination at the PHC.

1-3  years of experience in the field of nursing
